We are truly blessed to work with some very special families! The first memorial we did for this family was for Annie Billy. We read a newspaper article about her that said she did not have a headstone, so we offered to donate one. She was such an amazing woman. She wa...

There are some beautiful new trends in memorialization for headstones.

We are just wondering about the stability and longevity?

Most have not been tried and tested long enough to know.

Laser etching and color laser etching are beautiful and life-like, but if there are har...

Headstones were originally put next to houses or churches before there were many cemeteries. Marble was widely used because it was softer and easier to carve by hand. On the rock hardness scale, marble is 3. Now that we can sandblast, granite is a much better choice. I...

Stone signs are long lasting and virtually maintenance-free. They can't be blown over, burned, or ruined by the weather. Your initial investment will really pay off. Whatever you can dream up, we can have manufactured and carve.

Here are a few of the ones we have done.

We love working with small town cemeteries. Most have so much pride in keeping the cemetery up. This is one of our favorites in Washington,

It has the most beautiful

view of Mt. Adams!

We have been privileged to help a number of cemeteries mark their unmarked graves. We have a program where we can give special prices for carved, granite headstones in lots of 10 or more. We were also just able to help a small rural cemetery with some stones we had lef...

We just had a new article about our business in our Electric Magazine, The Ruralite.

I happened to find the first one they did in 1994. Things have really changed in 24 years!

Thanks, Jeanie Senior, for another good article!

THEN - 1994

 NOW - 2018

 This hardly resembles th...

When a loved one passes, we often feel bewildered and tremendously sad.  How do we move forward and heal?  Memorials that celebrate and honor your loved one’s life in a personal way can help.

The value of personalization.  Not all memorials are created equal.  You’...

Cross-Country Help

I cannot say enough good things about Kris and her team at Pioneer Rock and Monument. This small, local business is both nimble and responsive, staffed by people who made me feel like I was working with a much larger operation. What I expected to be a difficult process was instead a smooth transaction and was somewhat enjoyable (as much as ordering a gravestone can be). Kris shared numerous designs with me as she distilled my ideas and wishes to create a memorial befitting my late father. I live on the East Coast and had to do most of my order through emails and phone calls. Despite being across the country, I was treated as if I was just down the street. Kris even went the extra mile by visiting the cemetery plot where the stone will be placed to ensure the stone would fit. Thanks to her extra leg work, we learned that a smaller stone would be needed. Without missing a beat, Kris and her team adjusted my ideas into a smaller stone that looks fantastic. Throughout this transaction, the communication was thorough and gave me confidence that I was working with true professionals. I am very pleased with the final headstone and I recommend Pioneer Rock and Monument without reservation.
